As Muslims across the world prepare to observe the Holy Month of Ramadan, Kano state Police Command has rolled out security guidelines for citizens to be on alert and urged officers and men to remain steadfast in the line of their duties.
The Command also urged Muslims in the state to observe the Holy Month with the fear of God, and pray fervently for the state and the country.
In a Statement released by the Spokesman of the Command, Superintendent of Police, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, at the early ours of Friday, police in Kano urged residents to remain security conscious.
The Statement was tagged: “SECURITY DURING THE MONTH OF RAMADAN: CP URGED OFFICERS TO REMAINED STEADFAST IN CRIME FIGHTING.”
The Statement also indicated that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, has commissioned Kore Division built and furnished by Kano State Government.
The Police Boss expressed appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his steady support to security agencies in the state.
According to the Statement: “On March,30, 2022, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi, in his monthly conference with Area Commanders, Squadron Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments (HODs) and Senior Police Officers of the command, at the Police Officers Mess, Bompai Kano, appreciates the efforts of the officers for their dedication in safeguarding lives and properties of the good people of Kano State.
“He assured officers of the commitment of the leadership of the Force under IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc(+), NPM, fdc in improving the welfare of personnel. He charged the officers to remained steadfast in crime fighting, especially as the second quarter of the year 2022 sets in.
“The command has been recording tremendous successes and the Commissioner of Police directed the officers to continue with robust community policing engagements, constant raids of criminal hideous and black spots, sustaining the Operation Puff Adder that is based on rapid response to distress call, intelligence-led and visibility policing, adherence to the ethics of the Nigeria Police Force and synergy with sister security agencies and community policing stakeholders.
The Statement further stated that: “On March 31, 2022, the Commissioner of Police also, commissioned Kore Divisional Police Headquarters built and furnished by Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR (Khadimul-Islam). In his remark while commissioning the Police Division, the CP appreciates Kano State Government for championing community policing by giving the Police support and assistance.
“He appreciates the efforts of Kano State Governor for refurbishing Police Vehicles through MD KAROTA, DR Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, Hon Murtala Sule Garo for directing Local Government Chairmen to assist the Police with Operation Vehicles, he also appreciates the Honourable Chairman of Danbatta, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Kore, Hon Murtala Musa Kore, representative of the district head of Danbatta, Alhaji Wada Shehu, Chairman PCRC Kore Division, Ya’u Galadima Yellow and other community policing stakeholders of the Division that makes the project a reality.”
