APC postpones presidential primary

Few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the one week extension of date for the conduct of political party primaries, the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its earlier scheduled date for the conduct of its presidential primaries

The APC, which had severally rescheduled its primaries, had finally arrived at a May 29 and 30 date for the exercise even as it had also left rooms for doubt over the date as it had not put anything on ground in preparation for the exercise, which was billed to take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja

INEC had after it’s emergency meeting with the leadership of the 18 political parties, under the auspices of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), agreed to extend the conduct of political parties primaries gor one week

This decision was followed by a quick response from. APC, which wasted no time to announce the postponement of its presidential primaries , in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka

“Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s extension of deadline for the submission of list of candidates by political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby postpones its Special Convention for Presidential Primary from Sunday, 29th – Monday, 30th of May, 2022 to Monday, 6th – Wednesday, 8th of June, 2022.”  The short statement read
