Always observe May 30 as a remembrance Day, ADF charges Igbo

The  Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) led by Professor Chidinma Iwuala to always observe May 30 of every year as a remembrance day to mark the events that led to the birth of Biafra on May 30,1967.

Professor Iwuala made the plea in his message to mark the 2022 edition of Biafra day memories, through the spokes of the foundation, Hon Abia Onyike, describing the Biafran conscience as rooted in the minds of every Igbo man globally of which no force or might can remove,stating it is a day which usually reminds The Igbo nation of their past and to plan for the future.

Part of ADF press statement reads,”Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) therefore propels that Umuigbo should continue to observe May 30 every year as a remembrance day,a day to remember our history, to review our successes and failures, to remember those who have died fighting for the Igbo cause and also to think and plan of our future as a nation”

Coincidentally, the 2022 May 30 Biafra day remembrance coincides with the usual ‘Monday Sit-at -Home holiday in the South East zone, which began across the five states in the South East zone, aftermath of the incarceration of IPOB leader,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,at an Abuja prison. All efforts to secure his bail by his lawyers has been unsuccessful.
