A Frontline governorship aspirant in Benue State, Barrister Boniface Umelo, has called on voters in the state to shun candidates from political parties who put their nomination forms at exorbitant prices
Umelo, who is seeking the ticket of the Allied Movement Party (AMP), expressed displeasure over the exorbitant cost of nomination form with ruling party in the country.
The former chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) who had earlier indicated interest for governorship under the party platform, disclosed that he had to switch to the AMP , due to the high cost of the APC forms, insisting that his ambition
would be achieved this time around..
The governorship aspirant reiterated that his supporters should embrace the new party boasting that he is the only contender from his South senatorial District who vie on different platforms over three decades.
” Am not relenting until power is capture especially from the axis I belong, since the inception of civil rule, the seat of power is yet to rotate,” he stated, while appealing to stakeholders to ensure maximum support with a view towards ensuring he succeeds Ortom in 2023.
According to him, “posterity would continue to eludes us if we cannot jettison the idea of cash and carry elections ahead of forthcoming general elections in the country.”
