Umelo, who is seeking the ticket of the Allied Movement Party (AMP), expressed displeasure over the exorbitant cost of nomination form with ruling party in the country.

The former chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) who had earlier indicated interest for governorship under the party platform, disclosed that he had to switch to the AMP , due to the high cost of the  APC forms,  insisting that his ambition

would be achieved this time around..

The  governorship aspirant reiterated  that his supporters  should embrace the new party  boasting that he is the only contender from his South senatorial District who vie on different platforms over three decades.

” Am not relenting until  power is capture especially from the axis I belong, since the inception of civil rule, the seat of power is yet to rotate,” he stated, while appealing to stakeholders to  ensure maximum support with a view towards ensuring he succeeds Ortom  in 2023.

According to him, “posterity would continue to eludes us if we cannot jettison the idea of cash and carry elections ahead of forthcoming general elections in the country.”
