A group of North East stakeholders in the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) have called on the leadership of the party to pick its vice presidential candidate from the zone
The North East APC Youth Stakeholders stated in a press briefing yesterday in Abuja that the zone deserves the APC vice presidential ticket, having worked and suffered more in defense of the party
Leader of the group, Haruna Sadauna, argued also that ceding the vice presidential ticket to the North East will help in more small way to revitalize the zone, which he noted has suffered from degradation as a result on series of terrorist attacks
“While appreciating our Party Loyal Members Especially from the NorthWest and North Central Zones, we are appealing for their special consideration of the North-East Zone for the position of the Vice
“The North-East region had always given block votes to the APC and supported its candidate from the other regions, right from its Inception. Looking at the current pathetic situation that the region is currently facing, due to Insurgency and other social unrest menace, one believes it rightly deserves the vice presidential slot to ammennd some of the wrongs
“Zoning the position of the Vice President to the North East will neutralizes the PDP Presidential candidate and mobilizes massive support from the region and other Zones to ensure victory of Alh. Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
“We therefore appeal to our National, State critical and non-critical stakeholders, especially our father president Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) our candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Senator Abdullahi Adamu led APC
National Working Committee, to consider the condition of our zone and give us the opportunity to produce the party’s vice presidential candidate “
