From Isaac Ojo

As part of his administration’s commitment to ensuring a healthy environment, Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, has flagged-off a special sanitation exercise in the state capital.

The exercise was performed at the popular Eke Awka Market roundabout, weekend.

He explained that the exercise was part of his administration’s determination to ensure a hygienic and healthy environment as well as the wellness of the citizenry.

He ordered a comprehensive sanitation exercise across the 21 local government areas of the state.

While stating that cleanliness is next to godliness, the governor said that in the coming days, his administration’s urban renewal plans would be achieved in line with global best practices.

The governor commended residents of the state for their support and appealed to them to join hands with his government for effective environmental management.

Gov Soludo, however, revealed that he has engaged 31 contractors to help keep the state clean even as he appealed to traders who sale their goods on the roads across the state to go into the markets.
