From Maurice Okafor,Enugu.

The Presidential candidate of the defunct Citizens Popular Party(CPP) in the 2003 general election, Chief Maxi Okwu, yesterday gave a nod to the demand for a revolution in Nigeria’s political leadership that will rejuvinate social peace and economic progress in the nation, if Mr Peter Obi of labour party, is elected as the next civilian president of Nigeria in 2023 presidential election.

In a brief chat with The AUTHORITY, South East post in Enugu, Chief Maxi Okwu described Mr Obi’s entrance into the presidential race as the litmus that is currently igniting and restoring  the spirit and hope of many Nigerians especially the Youths in our politics and electioneering system, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He stated,”Peter Obi whether by design or default has become the arrowhead of the new movement of Nigeria. His campaign catch call of let’s take back our country is resonating well right across all strata of the society, but more particularly among the youths, the frustrated, the angry and the disillusioned”.

“He has rekindled hope that, yes we can. Without Peter Obi in the presidential race it would have been so lackluster that the turn out would be dismal’.

The defunct CPP presidential candidate expressed optimism that if Mr Peter Obi is eventually elected as the next President of Nigeria, his exoetience in government business and economic way of life will ginger  a new turn in the socio economic emancipation of our country.

His words,” (Nkpume) Mr Peter Obi will  bring a whole lot to the table. His  verifiable background of performance in executive capacity as Governor of Anambra state. Fiscal frugality, dymistification of high office through a culture of low profile. He has improved himself through regular training and retraining to better understand and meet the new challenges that beset our nation. He has the right mindset and preparedness to solve the Herculaneum problems besetting our beleaguered nation”.

End.
