Ahead of the 2023 general elections, group known as Grassroots Politicians Association of Nigeria (GPAN) has passionately pleaded with the people of the Southeast geopolitical zone also known as Ndigbo and the people of Abia North Senatorial zone in particular to support and re’elect the former of Governor of Abia State Senator Orji Uzor Kalu back to the Senate in 2023 to enable him continue to be in a better position to champion the cause of the Southeast in Nigeria.
The group who made the appeal during their monthly national meeting with non Indigenes residing In South East held in Enugu, the Coal City State capital yesterday described Senator Kalu as a detriblized leader with vast connections and deep experience in Nigeria politics which is very critical for addressing the challenges facing Ndigbo in Nigeria.
Senator Kalu, who is the current Senate Chief Whip representing Abia North in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly is seeking to be re’elected back to Senate for a second tenure in 2023 under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Making the appeal, the Prresident of GPAN Alhaji Murtala Mohammed (10 -10) who is also the convener and President General Orji Uzor Kalu Grassroots Movement for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President told the people of the Southeast that Orji Uzor Kalu as a second term Senator will muster the strength not just to give them a national visibility and charisma but also ensure that Ndigbo are at the center of government to derive their fair share in the scheme of national dealings.
Alhaji 10-10 said with optimism that with Orji Uzor Kalu as a popular former governor in the Senate for a second term with vast connections in the North, Southwest and Southsouth Ndigbo are rest assured of their fair share of the national cake as nobody will marginalize them anymore because Kalu is capable to mobilise all the needed support for Ndigbo and Nigeria in General
“On behalf of this group, I plead with Ndigbo and the good people of Abia North Senatorial zone to support and reelect Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for a second term in the Senate in 2023. It is on record that Kalu is one of the best performing Senator in the current Senate. He has changed the face of Abia North with dividends of democracy and going for a second tenure will put him in a stronger position to do much more” he added.
