PDP Former Reps Aspirant Lara Odetunde Escapes After Attempts To Kill Her

Odetunde Iyabode Omolara, a former aspirant for House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has fled the country after many attempts to kill her by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums.

She aspired to represent AMAC/Bwari federal constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, but lost to the incumbent Lawmakers, Micah Jiba, at the primary election

She has however been a loud tone in the campaign for women inclusion in Nigeria. Her voice was also heard at different fora seeking inclusion of Christian representatives at the Senate and House as against the advocacy of Muslim agenda in the recent FCT house of representatives primaries.

A woman leader in the opposition PDP and the Proprietor Northern Women Peace Forum, she has since fled the country after being in hiding for several weeks.

During a raid by a team of heavily armed men numbering about five in one of her properties located in the high brow area of Abuja, two of her aides were killed.

She escaped by whisker, calling on the security agencies to unravel those behind the killing of her aides, Abdulkadir Iliya and Simon Oti who were both in her campaign team during the primaries.

As at the moment of this report, all efforts to reach the Spokesperson of FCT police command proved abortive.

Odetunde is a philanthropist and humanitarian who has through her humanitarian organisation, Northern Women Peace Forum, touched several lives.
