Adesina, Makinde, Akintola others to speak at first Ogbomoso Economic and Investment Summit

The President of Africa Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investments, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare and other prominent dignitaries will speak at the 2022 first Ogbomoso economic and investment summit.

Other expected speakers are Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Commodities and Foreign Exchange, Akin Akeredolu-Ale, Chief Executive Officer of Family Home Funds, Femi Adewole and Bar. Akin Akintola

These leaders will join prominent sons, daughters of Ogbomoso land and other experts to brainstorm at the event.

The Ogbomoso economic and investment summit which will articulate and project the resources that abound in Ogbomoso to national and foreign investors is scheduled to take place in Recreation Centre, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, between November 23rd and 24th, 2022.

The summit tagged “Exploring Economic Potential of Ogbomoso land: Engage, Collaborate and Invest”, is put together by Ogbomoso Business Roundtable a nonprofit independent group of business leaders of Ogbomoso indigenous.

According to the organizers, the event will provide an open platform for discussion on how the city’s economy can seamlessly turn into a high-end business environment.

Founder/President of Ogbomoso Business Roundtable, Benjamin Onigbinde in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday lamented that Ogbomoso is facing a prolonged fight against ineptitude growth in recent years, with many companies folding up.

Onigbinde, who is also the CEO of Sigvent Property Trust Limited currently developing City Avenue, a housing estate in Ogbomoso explained that the summit is to come up with solutions on how Ogbomoso can navigate these complex growth challenges successfully to ensure an economic revival.

Onigbinde said the Ogbomoso Economic and Investment summit is being organized to highlight economic opportunities and potentials to a worldwide audience comprising of policymakers, business leaders, academics, financial and economic experts and proffer solutions to challenges mitigating the economic growth of Ogbomoso.

He commended the present administration both Federal and State governments for laying a foundation and providing an enabling environment that will attract and sustain investment in the State and Ogbomoso in particular.

“The Ogbomoso Economic and Investment Summit is aimed at introducing paradigm shift and to present diverse business opportunities as a transformation model for poverty alleviation, increase government revenue, and sustainable economic development for the city, he added.

Founder/President of Ogbomoso Business Roundtable said that Ogbomosho is blessed with abundant human and natural resources to become an economic hub in Oyo state.

He added that ” the challenges of economic development of the 5 local governments of Ogbomoso land are beyond what the local government administration and indigenous entrepreneurs can handle despite various economic potentials in the land.

The statement in part read “Ogbomoso has faced a prolonged fight against ineptitude growth in recent years with many companies folding up and financial institutions relocating.

“The Summit aims to sensitize various economic stakeholders to the vast resources that are available in Ogbomoso. It will bring together business and marketplace leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, investment groups, government agencies, policymakers and all those with a desire to advance value-based business and economic activities within Ogbomosho to share ideas and create awareness of the diverse opportunities that abound in the second biggest economy in Oyo State.

” The scope of the summit will cover various economic areas including manufacturing, agriculture, sports, housing, medical tourism, SME Finance among others.

“The summit will not only provide opportunities for investors to explore investment opportunities in the city but also support both local and state government development agenda for accelerated development”.
