There are fears that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara may lose election come 2023 general elections following mass defection of the members of the party to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defection, according to the checks by The Authority in the state, may not be unconnected with the recent arrest of the former minister of communication, Alhaji Ikra Aliyu Bilbis by the authorities in the state and which did not go down well to the entire people of the state, including some APC members.

Dan Muazu also disclosed that it is time now to have change in the entire administration of the state, because if it continues like the way it is how, then the entire state and its people will only head to a rock, because there are no focused leaders, under aged persons are too many in the government, in fact, more than 40% of the political appointees are all those who did not know what leadership is all about and that is why we are doing everything possible within our reach in addition to our prayer to God for intervention, for the victory of Dauda lawan come 2023 gubernatorial election and all other elective position. It is also our belief that with Lawan as the governor, we will get positive change, because he has the state at heart’.
Also speaking, Hajiya Tanin Mai shinkafa, a 53 year old food seller, told our reporter that to be frank and sincere I was not happy over the arrest of Ikra and that is why I distanced my self from APC, I don’t like intimidation and it will be difficult for them to win as long as they continue to level unnecessary allegation against people who are considered to be prominent in the society.
