I Will Keep Ganduje’s Legacies Alive, Says Gawuna

…As Friends And Well-wishers Raises Fund For His Campaign

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Kano State, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has vowed to keep the legacies of his boss, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje alive if elected in the forthcoming elections.

Gawuna who is also the Deputy Governor of the state and immediate-past Commissioner for Agriculture, noted that continuity in governance remains key to sustainable development.

He said the uncommon achievements recorded by Ganduje’s administration shall be built upon to take Kano to greater heights.

Gawuna promised to build on policies and programmes that are geared towards achieving good results.

He spoke at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, during a fund-raising dinner organised in his honour by friends and well-wishers.

Gawuna pointed out that the experience he garnered in public service has provided him with the knowledge to hit the ground running when elected as Governor of Kano State.

He noted that the laudable policies and programmes executed by the present administration in the State in the areas of agriculture, education, security, health, infrastructural development, economy, women and youths development, have made impact in the lives of the people of Kano.

The APC governorship candidate further stated that, “such programmes require continuity in order to enhance a sustainable development. My experience is crucial, I am prepared to give all I have learnt over the years to serve our State.

“Our commitment is to ensure sustainance of good governance where everyone has equal opportunity to success through creation of an environment where businesses will thrive in Kano.”

Gawuna, however, expressed appreciation to his friends for organising the event.

In his remarks, Governor Ganduje explained that the choice of Gawuna and his running-mate, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo by the APC stakeholders in Kano was not by chance, but that they were considered through their capacity in human relations, capability, honesty, humility, dedication to duty and loyalty.

Also speaking, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong described Nasiru Gawuna as a committed APC member who possessed the required qualities to govern Kano State.

He urged Kano people to come out en masse and vote for APC during the general elections.

Among those who attended the occasion include the Minister of Defence, General Bashir Magashi (rtd), Minister of State for Works and Housing, Alhaji Umar El-Yakub, members of the National Assembly, Speaker, Kano House of Assembly, Engr.Hamisu Chidari and members of the state House of Assembly, Deputy National Chairman of the APC, Sen.Abubakar Kyari, Kano State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, members of the business community, among others.
