CP tours FCT communities, assures of adequate security

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sadiq Idris Abubakar, has undertaken confidence building and assessment tour of some communities in the FCT including Gomba village in the Kuje Area Council.

Addressing team of security operatives in the area comprising the Police, DSS, Vigilantes and other residents of the area, the CP explained that the patrol was aimed at warding off criminal elements and confidence building.

The tour, he noted, is also aimed at improving the synergy between the Police, sister security agencies, and the community for an onward fight against violent crimes. 

The CP who visited the palace of the traditional rulers of the area, listened to the various complaints of the residents and promised the creation of more outposts and the absorption of interested youths into the Community Policing programs in the Area.

This, according to him, is to augment intelligence gathering, maximize other benefits of Community Policing and establish a generally improved visibility policing specially aimed at ensuring that farming activities are safer.

The CP further assured residents of the FCT of improved security architecture tailored to fit the various topographical and social mapping of the Territory.

He, however, enjoined residents of the FCT to go about their lawful duties without fear of molestation from any quarters, urging them to be vigilant of suspicious activities and report same to the police.
