Kano Set For January Sanitation Exercise

Kano State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso has said that arrangements have been concluded for smooth operation of January sanitation exercise in Kano.

According to him, the general sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, 27 January, 2023, from 7 a.m to 10 a.m within Kano state.

A statement issued by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry of environment, Ismail Garba Gwammaja, urged Kano residents to be law abiding citizens to ensure total compliance of the directive to stay at home during the period and ensure to clean up their immediate environment during the stipulated time given.

The statement quoted the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, as saying that Mobile Court, security personnel and state Taskforce Committee on Sanitation, would be deployed to go round all the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure total compliance and deal with defaulters where necessary.

The Commissioner, however, urged parents and guardians to warn their children to desist from playing football or moving around during the period of sanitation exercise, saying that nobody will be spared if found wanting without any genuine reason.

Similarly, the statement further explained that only people with exceptional duties or illness would be allowed to move around during the exercise.

Meanwhile, Dr Getso pointed out that, the sanitation exercise for government MDAs, companies, market places and motor park have already commenced this Friday 26 January, 2023 and appealed to the general public to note this developments for the interest of the accelerated development of the state.
