Ganduje Honours Five Staff Of Environment Ministry For Outstanding Performance In January

Kano State Governor, Dr. Absuallahi Umar Ganduje, has honoured five staff of the Ministry of Environment for their outstanding performance in keeping the state clean and making the affairs of the Ministry run smoothly in the month of February.

The hardworking staff were rewarded through the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso.

Getso who was unavoidably absent during the monthly environmental sanitation meeting where a brief ceremony was held in honour of the five staff was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Garba Sale Ahmed.

Presenting the awards and other incentives during the function at the Conference Hall of the Ministry, the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Getso, said the staff were rewarded because of their outstanding performance in their various line of duties.

A Statement by the Director, Public Enlightenment in the Ministry, Malam Ismail Garba Gwammaja, indicated that the Commissioner was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Garba Sale Ahmed.

The Statement added that the honour was aimed at motivating the morale of workers in the Ministry with a view to reward the hard working staff and motivate them to continue to do more in this direction.

“Dr. Getso said the awardees were carefully selected based on their track record of work at their various locations within the metropolis.

“While urging them to do more to ensure a tidy and clean environment devoid of waste, the Commissioner maintained that the Ministry is committed to continue to select the best performing staff in all cadre that excel in their area to be recognized and awarded for others to emulate.

“Those honoured for the month of January are the best street sweeper malama Aisha Ibrahim, best Tricycle rider Rabiu Abubakar, best Supervisor Aminu Ibrahim, others are best PSP the Chairman Mai yadi links, Alh.Junaidu Haruna respectively.

“Items presented to the awardees includes Commendation letters, Shadda brocade and cash incentive.

“Responding on behalf of the beneficiary, the Chairman Mai yadi links Alh Junaidu Haruna, expressed deep appreciation to the government and pledges to justify the confidence reposed in them by being committed always for speedy progress and development of the state,” the statement stated.

However, Gwammaja hinted that the monthly sanitation exercise in the state will hold on Saturday.

He urged residence to come out en masse to participate in the sanitation exercise by keeping their environment clean, reminding them that defaulters will surely face the wrath of the sanitation Committee taskdorce.
