Insecurity: Some Foreign Nations Bent On Destroying Nigeria – Buhari

…Commends Ganduje On Infrastructural Development

From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh,  Kano

President Muhammadu Buhari has pointedly accused some western nations as sponsors of insecurity bedevilling Nigeria.

President Buhari said these nations have a nefarious agenda to destroy Nigeria for their selfish aggrandisement.

He spoke on Monday,  at Government House, Kano,  during a working lunch,  after inaugurating about eight mega-projects executed by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The President,  however,  urged Nigerians to remain patriotic, insisting that his government remains committed in fighting the Book Haram insurgents, bandits and other cadres of insecurity elements in the country.

According to him, “one can clearly see how these foreign countries took on our weaker part of Nigeria the Lake Chad where we have reserved of Crude Oil and caused serious mayhem there, with consistent attacks.”

President Buhari added that, in  Lake Chad, “if not that Borno state has a Governor like Ummara Zulum who is serious on his duties, the story would have different by now.

“This Governor, Ummara Zulum  is always early on his duties including going to offices of Permanent Secretaries who were still on beds but challenging them to double up to office.”

According to him,  in 2015 when he assumed office, in Borno many  Local Government Areas were in the control of Boko Haram, “and we are aware that some people are using the insurgents to cause problems, but today most of these Local Governments are free.”

President lamented that those destroying Borno state, using Boko Haram know that Borno is a potentially rich state, “that was why when I was a Governor there, I went to Niger, Chad and even Cameroon because you need your Neighbours to survive.”

President Buhari,  however,  commended  Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the infrastructural developments in the state.

He also extended commendations to the Governors  of Lagos, Kaduna, Katsina and Kogi states for performing creditable in the dispensation of democratic dividends.

He, however,  urged the elite  to help in promoting the education of youths who he described as potential leaders, pointing out that lack of education breeds social problems.

Projects Commissioned by President Buhari include the 10 Megawatts Federal Government, Kano Grid Solar project,  the Multi-billion Naira Dala Inland Dry Port,  Zawachiki,  Kano State Data Centre at Audu Bako secretariat,  Galaxy Backbone Limited project at Ahmadu Bello Way.

Others are the Multi-billion Naira Cancer Treatment Center at Muhahammdu Buhari Specialist Hospital,  Multi-billion Naira Muhammadu Buhari Road Rotary Inter-change at Hotoro,  Aliko Dangote Ultra-modern Skills Acquisition Centre, Zaria Road, and the Federal Government completed Housing Projects at Danmqnawa,  Gandul Sari.

Among those who made short speeches during the lunch at Government House include Minister of Power,  Engr.  Abubakar D. Aliyu,  Minister of Transportation,  Engr.  Mu’azu Jaji Sambo,  Minister of Communication and Digital Economy,  Prof.  It’s Ali Ibrahim,  Minister of Finance,  Dr. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed,  and Governor Ganduje.

The presidential visit was peaceful,  though there were reports of little skirmishes at the Hotoro axis after President Buhari had commissioned the multi-billion Naira Muhammadu Buhari Inter-change Flyover.

From Government House,  the presidential convoy departed to Emir’s Palace for helipad from where the presidential Chopper flew back to Daura,  his country home in Katsina state.
