Kano ICCES Chairman Lauds Security Agencies Over Preparadeness Ahead February, March Elections

The chairman of Kano State Inter-Agency Consultative Committee (ICCES) who is also the state Resident Electoral Commissiiner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ambassador Zango Abdu, has commended security agencies in the state over their level of preparadeness ahead the February and March general elections.

Ambassador Abdu lauded security arrangements during the recent Mock Accreditation Exercise in the state, and hoped that security agencies will replicate the same during the general elections.

He gave the commendation during ICCES’ meeting held at the Aminu Kano Center for Democratic Research, Mambayya House Kano.

Ambassador Abdu stated that the purpose of the meeting was to assess the level of preparedness for provision of security during the coming 2023 general elections.

According to him, “the Mock Accreditation Exercise is a very successful outing, just like a real election day situation.”

In his remarks, the Co-chairman of ICCES, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Dauda, stated that the Police Command in synergy with other sister-security agencies has set machinery in place to ensure a free, fair, credible, transparent and successful 2023 general elections.

He expressed happiness over the level of synergy existing among security agencies in the state.

Other ICCES members contributed immensely towards ensuring violent-free election processes in Kano.
