Atiku Will Deliver On His Five Priority Policy Thrusts—-Shekarau

Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, on Tuesday, urged Nigerians to vote for the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, promising that he will never fail to deliver on his five priority policy thrusts.

Shekarau, during an Interactive Session/Dinner with journalists in the state listed Atiku’s priority policy thrusts to include: unity of Nigeria, adequate security, education, economic development, and devolution of power.

According to him, “no one is in doubt that the unity of the country is being threatened by various groups. Atiku will put in motion programmes and policies that will unite the country.”

The Sardaunan Kano also pointed out that the security of lives and property in Nigeria, “is highly threatened,” vowing that if given the mandate, Atiku will fix the problems associated with security across the country.

He further stated that Atiku will revamp the education sector and give it its rightful place if voted as President of Nigeria on Saturday.

The former Governor of Kano State also said that Nigeria’s economy will receive a boost through steady power supply, provision of critical infrastructure and opening of borders for easy business transaction and interactions with neighbouring countries, if Atiku wins Saturday’s presidential election.

According to him, “Atiku will not be a greedy president. He will address the structure of governance. He will ensure devolution of powers so that more activities of governance will be taking place in states and Local Government Areas.”

He said Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s presidential ambition and power of incumbency of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s led All Progressive Congress (APC) will not stop Atiku from, “sweeping the required votes in Kano state, and indeed, across the country.”

Shekarau said the PDP has total confidence in the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies who he confirmed have promised to ensure credible, free, fair and violent-free elections.

He also expressed regret that some political parties in Kano have engaged in violent clashes, while thanking God that PDP supporters in the state have remained calm and law-abiding, he urged security agencies to ensure that actors of political violence in the state face the wrath of the law.

The Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District also used the occassion to list his achievements in the 9th Senate since 2019, during which he attracted constituency projects worth over N2.8 billion.

A live member of PDP Board of Trustees, Ambassador Aminu Wali, described Shekarau as an exemplary and visionary leader, while urging future politicians to take a cue from him.

During the session, Shekarau also presented two books entitled: Sardaunan Kano: Malam (Dr.) Ibrahim Shekarau: The Making Of A Green Revolution Through The Transformation Of Smallholder Agriculture In Kano State Nigeria (2003—-2007)…The Legacy Of A Visionary Leader, written by Muhammad Umar Kura.

The second book is entitled: Shekarau—Senator Representing Kano Central Senatorial Zone (2019–2023): Exemplary Leadership And Effective Representation, edited by Sule Ya’u Sule, PhD.
