The governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano state, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has assured that his administration will give financial autonomy to Local Government Areas if voted as governor on March 18.
Gawuna, who is currently the Deputy Governor of Kano state gave the assurance, while featuring in the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Network Programme: “The Ballot.”
“Local Governments are integral part of the government and is the tier close to the people that facilitates even development and distribution of resources and services.
“As a former local government chairman I know what its administration is all about.
“When I was a local government chairman,I was given free hand to operate. That made us to achieve alot of successes therefore if elected as Governor I would reciprocate that Gawuna explained,” he stated.
Gawuna insisted that he is the most qualified and prepared to be the next Governor of Kano State having worked with the previous administrations and have garnered alot of experiences.
He, however, promised to consolidate on the good legacies of past administrations for continuity.
Gawuna also urged the electorate to avoid violence and conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner during the election.
