The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has tightened security within and around the FCT in order to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration.
To this end, the Command has deployed human and material resources across the nooks and crannies of the FCT.
In a statement in Abuja, Friday, the Command Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh (SP), said that the deployment is ganished with strong inter-agency collaboration in order to ensure that every form of crime and criminality is nipped in the bud.
“The deployment is characterized by strengthened police-community relationship towards intelligence gathering, visibility policing at all places of worship,” the statement noted.
The statement, however, quoted the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, AIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar, as assuring residents of the FCT of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that they have a safe and peaceful Easter celebration period and beyond.
Meanwhile, while briefing senior officers from all units and formations of the Command on the Operation Order, the CP charged them to ensure that no stone is left unturned as they discharge their duties in tandem with global best practices and respect for Fundamental Human rights.
While advising the residents of the FCT to embrace peace, AIG Sadiq called for vigilance and urged residents to take advantage of the Police Control Room numbers in reporting suspicious activities/
