Ebonyi: Withdraw your petitions against me – Nwifuru tells political opponents as he assumes office

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State yesterday took over governance of Ebonyi State Elections Petition Tribunal now sitting in Abuja.

Nwifuru made the call during the inauguration of the 4th Democratically elected Governor of Ebonyi State at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.

The Governor of the State added that the withdrawal will enable him concentrate on the development of the State.
“I want to call on my political opponents to withdraw their petitions against me as this will enable me to discharge my responsibility.

“Everything happen the way God wants it. Our government shall be fair and just to all. We shall be firm and loving. To all my leaders and traditional rulers council, I will not disappoint you all.

“History has given us the platform to achieve a greater platform to achieve a greater things. As a people we cherish our freedom. In our first four years, we shall achieve a beacon of collective accomplishment,. We shall go to work every single day in our first tenure.

“I shall run my government on the people’s chapter of needs through citizens output. I shall hold meetings with Ebonyi people and and residents.”

Meanwhile, the out-gone Governor of Ebonyi State who handed over to Governor Francis Nwifuru announced the dissolution of the recently employed staff of the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Onueke, Ebonyi State.

He equally and officially announced the dissolution of the the State Executive Council, which on Thursday night, said was adjourned sine die.

While appealing to Ebonyi people to forgive him, Umahi said, “Those I offended l forgive; and those, who offended me, may action and reaction balance themselves.”

The former Governor urged the new Governor, Nwifuru to govern with the fear and love of God, having in mind that Ebonyians are one.
The inauguration ceremony of Mr. Nwifuru as the new Governor of the State was successful as a mammoth crowd witnessed the event at the Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium in Abakaliki.
