The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has called on all Stakeholders to keep faith with the Scheme as it strives towards the transformation of Nigerian graduate youths for national development.

It also appealed to State governments to provide befitting Orientation Camps in their domain, adding that the Camp is the first point of call for Corps Members as it creates lasting impression about their States.

The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed disclosed this on Tuesday in his welcome address at the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course Workshop with the theme, “Repositioning the NYSC Orientation Course in the Post -Golden Jubilee Era For Effective National Service”, held in Kaduna.

He said the Scheme is working closely with critical stakeholders towards ensuring the success of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course.

General Ahmed appreciated the contributions of Kaduna State Government to the success of NYSC operations, but appealed for the provision of “a more befitting Orientation Camp for the State because of its implications for the welfare of participants and the general success of the Orientation Course”.

He added that the workshop will come up with far reaching resolutions on policy guidelines towards the smooth conduct of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ exercise.

The Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka in his introductory address assured the Prospective Corps Members, parents, and other stakeholders that the forthcoming exercise will be executed with greater commitment.

Also speaking, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani commended the Scheme for its lofty achievements and tremendous contributions to national development since it’s inception more than fifty years ago.

The Pre-Orientation Workshop is a forum where key officials of the NYSC and it’s partner agencies converge to review the conduct of previous exercises with the view to mapping out strategies for improved performance.
