Reps Legislative Agenda: Speaker Abbas pledges enhanced working relationship with the media

As the National Assembly gets set to resume from its week long break, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has pledged to work assiduously with the Media to ensure the Implementation of Legislative Agenda of the 10th House of representatives.

The speaker who said this during an interactive section between the leadership of the house and the media (House of Reps Press Corps) noted that the importance of the media cannot be overemphasized.

Speaker Abbas assured that quality briefing of the activities of the house will be activated and done querterly, trainings of staff and media will be taken seriously amongst others.

Earlier, the Chairman of the House of representatives Press Corps Ms. Grace Ike who congratulated the speaker over his victory appealed that the working environment of the media centre requires urgent attention while training and retraining of members of the Corps is also essential. 

According to the speaker, a special Committee to monitor all activities of the all standing committees will be created to ensure not just the implementation of all the Legislative Agenda of the house but to further deepen oversight functions of each members.
