Easter: GPMI urges Nigerians to pray for Nigerian Army

Global Peace Movement International, UK has urged Nigerians to use the Easter celebration and the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for the safety and wellbeing of officers and men of the Nigerian Army and other security personnel that are ensuring the safety of the citizens.

GPMI in a statement by its President General, Dr. Mike Uyi who also doubles as the ambassador of the Nigerian Arm Forces on Monday in London, also stressed the need for continuous prayers for peace in Nigeria.

Uyi while acknowledging the giant strides recorded by the Nigerian Army in recent times, GPMI, however, admitted that the battle is far from over yet, calling on Nigerians to rally behind the Arm Forces as they edge towards victory.

It added that the “Time is now for Nigerians to come together in one loud voice in prayers and to fast for Gods intervention in the country and to put to shame all the plans of those that have sold their souls to the devil”.

“The Nigerian Army under the able leadership of Lt. Gen. Yahaya Faruk have been at the forefront of quelling all manner of insecurity ravaging the country and to this extend, some members of them have paid the supreme prize just to enable us have peace and celebrate with our loved once”.

Uyi expressed concern over the feelings by a section of Nigerians that the security agencies were not doing enough to curtail insecurity, saying that they were doing their best.

“Let us pray especially for those who lost their lives in the struggle for peace of Nigeria that their families will be consoles, comforted during this period of Easter and the Holy month of Ramadan”

“Global Peace Movement International salutes the able leadership of Lt. Gen Yahaya Faruk for his visionary leadership, professionalism and patriotism towards tackling insurgency and other criminal elements in the country “, he concluded.
