Holy Rosary Girls’ College, Gwagwalada in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has marked its 10th graduation ceremony, with a call on the students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuit.

In a lecture during the graduation, a lecturer in the University of Abuja, Dr Godwin Okaneme called on parents of both Primary and Secondary School, students never to push their children into studying courses or choice of careers against their wish.

Okaneme who was also the chairman of the 2023 send forth ceremony advised the outgoing students to shun misleading influence and guide themselves against issues that will lead them to early frustration in life.

“As teenagers who have just finished your secondary education career, you must ask yourself what you want to be in life. Do not allow your parents to push you into studying for any course or courses you have no flair or capacity for. If you allow that to happen to you, it may be the very beginning of your frustrations in life,”

Okaneme further charged youths to be weary of publicizing their life ambition in order to avoid dream killers.

In her remarks, the Principal, Holy Rosary Girls’ College, Gwagwalada, Sister Anastasia Ukwueze charged the students to always remain focus and strive for excellence in their academic pursuit and future endeavours.

She said, “It was not surprising that despite the challenges, you made outstanding performances in your internal and external examinations by JAMB, WAEC. Never give up, even when the going gets tough”.

We will continue to grow from strength to strength. I believe we will continue to move from success to success and glory to glory. Our daughters, as you go out today, the good Lord is telling you today, be not afraid”, he said.
