The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has been appointed as Chairman of the 12th Zik Annual Lecture Series, holding on November 16, 2023 at the ASUU Secretariat, UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra State.
The Zik Lecture Series is an annual event in commemoration of one of Nigeria’s greatest leaders, activist and politician, a nationalist, Governor General and Prime Minister, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.
The theme for this year’s lecture series is “Reclaiming Zik’s World: Climate Justice And Africa’s Sustainable Development”.
Other participants expected at the revered occasion are the former President of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Hilde Bonde, Governor of Anambra State, Professor. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, the former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the February 25 election, Mr Peter Obi, amongst others.
The Zik Lecture Series is one of the biggest annual events in the country, endowed to celebrate the legendary Zik of Africa, the 1st Indigenous President of Nigeria, renowned Pan-Africanist and statesman.
