Sen Zam decries under – representation his constituents in federal civil service

By Abba-Eku Onyekachi

The representative of Benue-West Senatorial District in the Senate, Sen. Zam, Titus Tartenger, has cried out over the marginalisation of his constituents in the federal civil service employments.

He therefore stated that there be urgent need to ensure federal character principle; curb lopsidedness and emerging infractions in the recruitment and deployment of officers by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and related agencies.

The legislator addressed journalists shortly after he moved a motion to that effect at the floor of the red chamber.

Informing that FCSC was established to ensure that people with requisite qualifications are put into consideration at recruitment and deployment of officers into federal civil service, he however said that only way to achieve the set goals was to be strictly employing and deploying the right people through advertisement.

He therefore attributed the domination of unqualified people in the federal civil service to the domination of the system by people from one section of the country to the detriment of the country and qualified people.

He also added non advertisement of employment through the media to another reason why unqualified people from one section of the country have over  the time been benefitting from the employment
