Unilorin  GG MAX Poultry Farm begins operations soon

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovations), University of Ilorin, Prof. Mikhail Buhari, has  visited the site of the Unilorin GG MAX Poultry Farm to assess the state of its completion.

Located along Ganmo – Amoyo Highway, the Poultry Farm, an intervention programme under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is part of the University of Ilorin’s commitment towards playing a key role in the agro-based business and further contribute to the revival of the poultry sub-sector in the country.

 The project is expected to help the country produce chicken meat and eggs in order to reduce importation and close the existing demand and supply gap.

Speaking during the inspection visit penultimate Monday, Prof. Buhari, who is also the Chairman of GG Max Poultry Farm, commended the effort of his team and charged the team to be proactive in order to meet the deadline, adding that all hands must be on deck now to ensure the success of the project.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of Alamoyo, Oba Jamiu Oyebola Ibrahim, to notify the royal father about the commencement of work at the GGMAX Poultry farm site.

He assured the Alamoyo that his community will benefit from the project.
Welcoming the Unilorin team to his palace, the Alamoyo, Oba Ibrahim thanked the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for the visit and promised that the people of Amoyo would give all the required supports for the project.

While expressing the hope that the project would facilitate job creation, Oba Ibrahim pleaded with the committee led by Prof. Buhari, to give priority to youths in the area
