Group hails Badaru, Matawalle over improvement in security

A non-governmental group, the Association of Concerned Citizens in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, has passed a vote of confidence on the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.

Briefing newsmen Sunday in Abuja, the association said under Matawalle and the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, security in the zones have improved drastically.

This was in reaction to calls on President Bola Tinubu to immediately suspend Matawalle, following accusations of financial recklessness by his predecessor; Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.

Speaking on the state of security in the country,, Comr Nuh’d Zaharaddeen, a representative from the North West, said: “Nort West roads are now secured. Before their emergence as ministers, the reverse was the case.

Abiola Peter, a representative from the South West said, “Ever since both men came on board, they have done very well. In my zone for instance, there is a place called Igboho in Oyo State. It is a town known for insecurity, but since they were appointed ministers, cases have reduced.”

Muhammed Hamza, a representative from North Central said: “Prior to their appointments, the region had faced a lot of insecurity ranging from banditry, kidnapping, but in the advent of this regime, we no longer hear of such cases like before.”
