From Maurice Okafor,Enugu.

The Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA] has reassured that Enugu state remains an investors friendly state as the present administration in the state led by Governor Peter Mbah is providing enabling environment that will attract more investors to the state, but cautioned intending investors to be cautions of parting their money to fake and fraudulent land dealers.

.The Executive Chairman of Enugu Capital Territory Development Agency (ECTDA], Barr. Uche Anya gave this advice yesterday while condemning the activities of those involved in fraudulent land deals in Enugu metropolis. He said the state government will withdraw all approvals of land fraudulently obtained.

He advised intending investors to ascertain the genuine of every landed property they wish to buy and develop in the state metropolis from the ministry of land, emphasizing that the present administration in the state has put in place a mechanism whereby every genuine transaction on acquisition of plots of land can be concluded within seven days, in as much as certificate of occupancy[Cof O] is gotten within 72 hours.

The ECTDA Boss lamented that some people with dubious acts are bent on sabotaging the efforts of the state government but the state government will no longer take it easy with such people.

His words, ’Enugu is a city of law and order. Scrupulous developers are sabotaging Enugu city master plan with forged certificate of approval. We are withdrawing all approvals that were fraudulently obtained’

.According to him, there are a number of houses along the bank of Ekulu river that were erected with fraudulently obtained approval .He stressed that there are properties, particularly a night club whose certificate of approval stipulated some plots at Government Reserved Area[GRA] but situates at a residential area at Independence layout, Enugu. He wondered how such dubious and fraudulent act would be reconciled.

The ECTDA Boss cautioned that the present administration in Enugu state has approached every human related issue with humility and meekness but that should not be taken as weakness, assuring the state government henceforth will deal with those involved in fraudulent land transactions squarely within the ambits of the law.
