By Stellamaries Amuwa

A group known as the Kogi Conscience Liberation Movement (KCLM) in collaboration with the Kogi Concerned Citizens Forums have called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), to investigate all local Government Chairmen as the former Governor Yahaya Bello cannot be alone in this cycle of corruption.

The group made this known during a peaceful match on the state of corruption in Kogi State at the EFCC office in Abuja

According to the group led by Comrade Peter Onuma and          Comrade Okpanachi Jacob, it states in part that, “consequent upon the on-going corruption case against the former Governor of Kogi State and other accomplices, it is imperative that we draw the attention of the EFCC to the setbacks as Kogi citizens are suffering economic setback being a spillover from the effect of this corrupt practices.

“To worsen the situation it is important to also recall that the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello conducted an endless screening exercise that led to loss of jobs, lives and many thrown into untold hardship within Kogi State.

“The cycle of corruption did not just revolve around  the former governor alone but it became a system that cannot exonerate the Local Government Chairmen and other key appointees that have to do with financial management in the state within his 8 years tenure.

“It is in the light of this that we commend the EFCC on the on-going case of N80 billion that is undergoing investigation alongside the charges linked to the family members on the case of 10 billion, but we in this light wish to assure the agency of our consent and support.”
