The Commandant-General (CG), Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has expressed the readiness of the Corps to work with other security agencies to secure the release of the abducted students.
According to a statement from the PRO, National Headquarters, CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, Abuja, the CG made the statement when the Minister of State, National Safe Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu paid him a working visit.
He also condemned the recent abduction of students and teachers in Kaduna and Sokoto States respectively.
Represented by the Deputy Commandant General (DCG) Adeyinka Fasiu, he said the visit was to strengthen the operational techniques of the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) domiciled at the National Headquarters of the NSCDC in Abuja.
Reacting on improved Safe School Response Techniques, the Commander of (NSSRCC), Dr. Abodunrin emphasized the need for both public and private schools to register with the centre, even as he gave the assurance that the mission was to protect schools and host communities.
The Minister of State Education however advised state governments to replicate NSSRCC centres in their respective states.
