Eid-el-Fitr: Umenzekwe felicitates with Moslems, harps on synergy devoid of political allegiance

Hon (Chief) Modestus Umenzekwe, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has joined other national leaders to felicitate with the Moslems on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Umenzekwe who sent the Sallah message from his country home at Achina in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State advised that the sacrifices of the nation’s heros past must not be allowed to fade into nothingness, saying that a time like this calls for sober reflection. ” I congratulate our Moslem brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, I rejoyce with them and I wish them a wonderful celebration.

“Of course, a time like this reminds us as a nation, the sacrifices of those who fought for independence for us as a nation, we must treasure their efforts and sacrifices and make sure we keep the nation as one indivisible entity,” Umenzekwe stated.

Umenzekwe also maintained that this year’s Eid-el-Fitr is so unique as it coincided with the Easter season and called for synergy between Christians and Moslems to pray Nigeria out of its present politico-economic quagmires. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the reason for the season and work for the betterment of Nigeria.

The political bigwig also urged Moslems to pray for the leadership of the country, especially the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and leadership of the other arms of government for God to give them the wisdom and direction on how best to pilot the affairs of the country.

He said “I call on our Moslem brothers and sisters to pray for our leaders especially the President and all the leaders of the other arms of government for God to give them the wisdom and knowledge to lead our dear country right.”
