Nigerian Army 6 Brigade nab mastermind of Taraba attack

Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE have arrested the mastermind behind terrorists attacks on Mararaban Azagawa Village in Taraba State.

The June 16, 2024 attack claimed five lives and left several injured.

The suspect, Hassan Ibrahim, alias “Godu” was arrested by troops acting on credible intelligence.

Sources said the troops launched a special operation and arrested the 39-year-old ringleader, recovering a Dane Gun, cartridges, and a motorcycle belonging to one of the victims.

During interrogation, Ibrahim confessed his involvement and is cooperating with authorities to capture his accomplices.
“He is currently in custody, cooperation with authorities to help capture his collaborators.”

The Brigade Commander, 6 Brigade Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the public for their support and urged continued collaboration to eliminate criminal activities in Taraba State.

This significant achievement marks a crucial step towards restoring peace and security in the affected community, demonstrating the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property, the statement noted.
