Nurses Across The Borders signs MoU with Federal Ministry of Health & Social Services to combat Climate Change

Another impactful milestone has been achieved by the internationally renowned Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Nurses Across The Borders in its dedicated efforts to combat climate change in Nigeria.

The group on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, building on its several capacity networks, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Services in Abuja to bring its expertise to bear on the fight against mitigating effects of Climate in the country.

The MoU which was aimed at enhancing the evidenced role of Nurses Across the Borders to combat climate change, also geared towards improving public health as part of Homeland Development of the organization.

In his remarks, Director of Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Services, Mr. O A Omosa, said that the MoU was the First MOU to be signed by the Ministry with an NGO on Climate Change and Public Health.

He disclosed that Nigeria has signed all the treaties relating to climate change global campaign.

Omosa congratulated Nurses Across The Borders International and prayed that the MOU brings about the needed capacity for the healthcare professionals in Nigeria.

Responding Pastor Peters Osawaru Omoragbon thanked the director for his cooperation to oversee the document being signed.

Omoragbon equally appreciated the pivotal role of Dr. Anyaike, Director, Public Health for his cooperation and coordination.

Present to witness the ceremony were Mr. Uloko, Director for Special Duties and Mr Abimbola, Assistant Director, Diaspora Department.

From NIDOE were Hon Omusa, CVC and CLLR, Harold who signed as witness for Nurses Across The Borders (NAB).
