Sen Lawan attributes Borno peace, security restoration to Zulum

By Abbanobi Eku Onyekachi, Abuja

Former Senate President Aad Lawan, who is currently representing Yobe North Senatorial District, has attributed the restoration of peace and security in Borno state to the efforts of the Zulum-led administration, just as he lauded the achievements of the Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, over the last five years since assuming office in 2019.

Govenor Zulum was re-elected during the 2023 General Elections to serve for a second and final term of four years.

Senator Lawan, in a statement from his Media Adviser, Dr Ezeike Tabiowo on Sunday to celebrate Gov. Zulum’s 55th birthday anniversary, described him as a leader who has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership over the years.

Senator Lawan’s birthday message reads: “Today, I celebrate my dear brother and friend, an exceptional leader, a visionary statesman, and a true servant of the people, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, on the momentous occasion of your 55th birthday. Since your assumption of office as Governor of Borno State, you have consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities.

“Your astute management of the insurgency crisis in Borno State has yielded positive results that witnessed the restoration of peace and security in the face of adversity; as well as brought stability and hope to affected communities. The introduction of the Disarmament, Demobilisation, Deradicalization, Rehabilitation, Reconciliation, and Reintegration programmes by the Borno State Government; the deployment of the Civilian Joint Task Force, and the provision of security to farmers have all contributed significantly to creating a secure environment for the citizens of Borno State.

“Similarly, you have invested heavily in the rehabilitation of schools, and provided free education for girls, to foster inclusivity and ensure equal opportunities. Your passion for healthcare is evident in the construction of ultramodern hospitals, and provision of free medical services. These initiatives have significantly improved access to quality healthcare for the people of Borno State.

“Your deep understanding of the economy has led to the implementation of innovative agricultural programmes, job creation initiatives, and infrastructure projects. These efforts have stimulated economic growth, created employment opportunities, and improved the livelihoods of the people.Your Excellency, your humility, empathy, and boundless compassion for the less privileged have earned you the admiration and respect of all who know you. Your regular visits to remote communities, your interactions with the displaced, and your personal interventions in humanitarian situations epitomize the true essence of public service.
