Abaji chairman promises women equal opportunities

The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi has promised the women equal opportunities in political appointments and other related areas.

He promised that his administration will always provide and sustain opportunities for women in political appointments and key positions, enabling them to showcase their leadership skills.

Abdullahi stated this when management team of Gender Strategy and Advancement International (GSAI), led by Comrade Udie Grace visited him.

He listed appointments of women as Supervisory Councilor for Education and Council Local Education Authority Secretary, among others as key areas of achievement.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, Abu Muhammed, promised to appoint a disabled individual as Special Adviser, saying the move demonstrates his administration’s dedication to inclusivity and gender sensitivity.

However, Udie Grace acknowledged Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi’s leadership prowess and commitment to empowering women.

She explained that GSAI Community brings together women passionate about their communities and committed to advocating for women, girls, and women with disabilities in vulnerable groups.

During the visit, critical issues surrounding women’s participation in governance and leadership, both globally and in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, were discussed
