Thousands of constituents and party stalwarts of Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Gumi, representing Gumi/Bukkuyyum Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, held a citywide rally in his honor. The rally, which lasted over five hours, was a celebration of Gumi’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Gumi expressed his gratitude to his constituents, stating that the massive turnout indicated he was doing something right as a politician. He emphasized that politics is about representing people, doing what’s right, and offering justice and fairness to everyone.
Gumi attributed the massive turnout of party stalwarts to the rare occasion of two parties merging under one umbrella. He described it as a remarkable sight, with the whole local government structure coming together to achieve dividends of democracy.
During the rally, Gumi distributed irrigation equipment to empower youths to return to farming. He aims to promote agriculture and provide gainful employment for young people. This initiative is part of his efforts to address the economic challenges facing his constituents.
Gumi announced the commencement of a major road construction project in Gummi Local Government to facilitate farming and ease transportation of produce. Additionally, he plans to construct a steel bridge in Zonma, Bukkuyyum Local Government.
Insecurity is a significant challenge in Gumi’s region, affecting people’s livelihoods. To address this, he will focus on empowerment programs, including road construction in safe areas, to open up more farming lands. Gumi emphasized that farming is the fastest way to create employment and make people self-reliant.
Gumi’s efforts align with his previous achievements, including various development projects and support for vulnerable members of the community. His commitment to advancing the wellbeing of his constituents has earned him recognition as a remarkable representative.
As Hon. Gumi begins his new chapter with the APC, his constituents are optimistic about the future. With his proven track record and continued dedication, Gumi is poised to make an even greater impact in Zamfara State.
