As christians all over the world celebrate Christmas today, brother Nnamdi Akujor, an ordained Minister of Overcomers Christian Mission Worldwide, has admonished christians all over the world that Christmas season is a period of brotherly love, righteousness, holiness, forgiveness, and should not be associated with any negative behaviour(s).

Akujor gave the admonition on Tuesday while addressing newsmen on his 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year messages in his office at the church headquarters, Owerri.

In his words, “the birth of Jesus Christ should be a celebration in holiness and righteousness, the season does not call for the celebration in negative way or ways, with social vices, rather it’s a time of peace, empathetic love, forgiveness and to be kind- hearted to one another. Christ as the son of the most high God, is the only reason for the season”.

While wishing christians all over the world happy Christmas and a prosperous new year, Akujor maintained that Jesus Christ was not born on the 25th of December, but rather, the date was set aside by the entire christian world for the commemoration and celebration of His birth as the Lord, hope and saviour of mankind.

” However, this is a season of love, forgiveness, joy, celebration and as christians, we have to use this period in retrospect and equally ponder over the life we are living. As christians, we believe that a time came when God Almighty sent His beloved begotten son, who took the form of flesh to the world for He might redeem mankind.

“Thus, it’s also a season to share God’s infinite love and grace. However, there’s no way, you can share God’s love only by speaking, because many people are tired of speaking, all they want are result-oriented actions, in accordance with Mathew chapter 5 vs 16, which says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven”, he said.

The reverred man of God disclosed that, as part of the crux for the season, he gave out over 200 bags of rice and cash gifts to some members and worshippers at Overcomers Christian Mission Worldwide, Owerri, with special interest to the less-privileged, widows and vulnerable persons, even as they took to the streets of Owerri, and fed the poor people they met on the streets of the State capital.

Continuing , he said, “The bible said in Galatian, chapter 6 vs 10, that we should do good to people, especially the people of the same household of faith. So it’s a great commission as christians to always reach out to the poor, destitutes and the people you know that cannot give back to you as Jesus Christ did. God knows that we cannot save ourselves, thus why, He sent His only begotten son to come, redeem and salvage mankind”.

He prayed fervently for Imolites, Governor Hope Uzodimma and members of his government, prophesying that this season will be their season of enduring prosperity, protection, unity of purpose, love, kindness, God’s mercy, forgiveness and grace, above all, that the people would be alive and healthy to see the year, 2025, and even beyond.

Akujor further prayed for God’s abundant blessings, wisdom and strength to Governor Uzodimma’s administration and the nation at large .
