As part of her commitment to enhancing the well-being of senior citizens, the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, through her Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, Mrs. Aliu Nana Ohunene, visited Ateba in Agassa community to distribute financial assistance and essential items to elderly residents.
During the empowerment event, Mrs. Aliu Nana Ohunene explained that the initiative was focused on assisting the most vulnerable members of the community.
She expressed her gratitude to God for providing the strength to carry out the project and also thanked Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo for the opportunity to serve in her current role.
With the First Lady’s support, Mrs. Aliu emphasized that she had been able to touch many lives and bring positive changes to households.
“I thank Almighty Allah for this opportunity and Her Excellency, Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo who has been a pillar to all of us in rendering assistance to the needy. If you are with Her Excellency, you must extend hands of fellowship and this has been part of me,” she remarked.
She also assured the public that similar initiatives would be extended to other communities across Kogi State’s central senatorial district, urging citizens to continue supporting the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Numerous beneficiaries shared their gratitude and optimism, stating that the support would go a long way in easing their burdens. They also praised Mrs. Aliu Nana Ohunene for her compassion and commitment to improving the lives of the elderly.
