It was a historical pomp and pageantry in ancient Eziachi autonomous community in Orlu LGA of Imo State as Hon.Stephen Uwaezuoke, was conferred with reverred Chieftaincy title as “Nkume 1” by HRH Eze Ezennaya Ndoh, the traditional ruler of the famous autonomous community.
The well attended evergreen occasion was held last month at the Palace of Eze Ndoh and was witnessed by members of the community including their illustrious sons and daughters, as well as eminent personalities within and outside the country.
It was like a cultural fiesta as traditional dancing troupes and masquerades exhibited the best of cultural dances with so much admiration and excitement from the people that graced the occasion.
Officiating the ceremony, Eze Ezennaya Ndoh, a young traditional ruler with vision applauded Uwaezuoke for his philanthropic gestures and sterling leadership qualities while joining God for His immense blessings and grace upon his subjects, the community, Imo State and Nigeria at large.
The Royal Father also advised the people on the need to be good ambassadors of the community and law abiding in all their endeavours, adding that good name and good work pays.
Responding, Chief Uwaezuoke -the newly conferred Chief, as “Nkume 1 of Eziachi” and one time Owerri Senatorial candidate expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed on him and assured of his unflinching commitments in the services of God and humanity at large.
Uwaezuoke specially thanked the Eze, Community for the gesture while assuring to work for the progress of the community and humanity in general.
Speaking also, the wife of the new title holder, Lolo Nkume 1 of Eziachi eulogized her husband for being worthy son of the soil to have attracted the honour, describing him as a committed person and the husband of her youth.
She however urged women to remain supportive by showing love to their husbands, children and community at large.
Receiving his chieftency title(certificate)from the President General of the Eziachi Community,Arc.Uche Achugo commended chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke Nkume 1 of Eziachi for his doggedness in making the community great as he urged him not to relent in working and bringing goodies for the betterment of the Community.
The epoch-making event featured dances, cultural displays, and goodwill messages from all and sundry among other side attractions.
