Univad secures partnership with West African Universities for Direct Admission of its students

From Cyriacus Nnaji, Lagos

Univad, the next-generation online learning institution known for its innovative approach to education, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with universities in West Africa, granting its students direct admission opportunities into advanced programmes such as Bachelor’s degrees (BScs).

According to a release, the partnership positions Univad as a leader in bridging the gap between quality online education and traditional university pathways.

According to the institution, students who complete Univad’s diploma programmes will now be eligible for direct entry into select universities within the region.

Among the partner institutions are Weldios University, Courage University, and several other reputable schools across West Africa. This means Univad graduates can seamlessly transition into these institutions, continue their studies, and earn globally recognised Bachelor’s degrees.

Univad has also hinted at plans to expand these partnerships across Africa and globally in the near future.

In the statement, Mike Ikenwa, Founder and CEO of Univad, described the partnership as a significant milestone in redefining access to opportunities for African students.
“This partnership is a testament to the quality and relevance of Univad’s programmes,” Ikenwa said. “We are thrilled to provide our students with seamless pathways to further their education and achieve their career ambitions at some of the most respected institutions. Through this, our students don’t just gain knowledge—they gain the opportunity to graduate with the same certificates and recognition as students who enrolled traditionally. It’s not just about learning; it’s about unlocking opportunities that transform lives.”
Univad’s diploma programmes are designed to equip students with in-demand skills in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, and more. With this partnership, graduates from these programmes will bypass the traditional hurdles of university admission, including entrance exams and lengthy application processes. They will also graduate with the same credentials as other students, becoming part of the alumni network of these prestigious universities.

The announcement has sparked enthusiasm among students and education stakeholders, with many praising Univad’s commitment to breaking barriers in education. For students like Adebayo Oladimeji, currently enrolled in Univad’s Project Management diploma, the news offers renewed hope for advancing his academic journey.
“This partnership gives me a clear path to pursue my dream of earning a Bachelor’s degree while building on the knowledge I’ve gained at Univad,” Oladimeji said.
While some may question the feasibility of such partnerships, education experts affirm that similar collaborations between online learning platforms and universities are becoming a global trend. Institutions like Weldios University and Courage University, known for their focus on innovation and inclusivity, are leading the way in recognising the value of skills-based education.

Univad’s seamless integration of technology with education has earned it a reputation as one of Africa’s fastest-growing edtech platforms. By offering flexible, self-paced learning and programmes taught by experts from leading tech companies like Meta, Google, and IBM, the institution continues to redefine the future of learning.

This partnership underscores Univad’s mission to provide quality education that transcends geographic and financial barriers. For prospective students and their families, this announcement offers a compelling reason to consider Univad as the starting point for a transformative academic journey, culminating in globally recognised qualifications and meaningful career opportunities.
