The 6 brigade Nigerian army has continued to be receiving applause following successful hosting of its 2024 Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA) recently took place in Jalingo.
Speaking to our correspondent on Tuesday, a paramount ruler in the state/Eze Igbo I of Taraba His Royal highness Igwe Wilfred Ibe lauded the unwavering collaboration, commitment and exception cordial relationship existing between army 6 brigade, Jalingo and other security agencies in the state.
The monarch who was particularly delighted by activities of the army command in the state led by brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa called for sustenance and urged them to be unrelenting.
According to Igwe Wilfred Ibe the invitation accorded traditional rulers in the state by the Nigerian army shows how respectful the brigade valued royal fathers hence the attendants present at the event.
The Eze Igbo who prayed to God for protection of brigadier general Uwa, officers of the brigade and other security agencies also lauded the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for creating an enablement for such an event to take place in the state.
He called for unity among diverse ethnic, religion and tribes while urging all and sundry to support the administration of Governor Kefas in the state to enable it sustain the tempo.
In his remarks at the event, brigadier general Uwa appreciated Taraba State government for its support, particularly in logistics to enhance the brigade’s operational activities.
General Uwa reassured the people of the state and the Nigerian army of the brigade unwavering commitment and loyalty to fulfilling its mandate of defending the nation’s territorial integrity and aid civil authority.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, was represented at the event by secretary to the government of Taraba state (SGS) Chief Barr. Gibon Timothy Kataps emphasized the government’s appreciation for the brigade’s efforts in combating insecurity and maintaining peace.
He equally reiterated the government’s continued support to sustain the tempo of 6 brigade operations in 2025.
