Mercurial Coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru has been drafted back to Lobi Stars to help return bite in the team in what the Club said is a “decisive move to reposition the club”, but, on interim bases.

Coach Ganaru’s first mission to Lobi Stars in 2021 under the Vice Chairmanship of Dominic Iorfa was to salvage the badly battered Stars from the precarious precipice of relegation. He turned the team that was given no chance of maintaining a place in the elite league into a hard fighting bunch that ended the season very comfortably. The reasons for his departure from the club was closely guarded.

The Coach’s return according Lobi Stars Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, “became necessary following the resignation of the former Technical Adviser and the team’s current standing on the NPFL table”.

Dr. Nongu appealed to fans of the club not to relent in their support for the club.

“Everything we do at the moment is for the good of our beloved club. While we welcome criticisms, they should be constructive and aimed at enhancing our performance. Let us remain steadfast in our support, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible”. He maintained.

Dr. Nongu expressed confidence in the ability of the new coach, who has previously managed Lobi Stars, and reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing him with the necessary support to ensure the club retains its NPFL status.

In another significant development, the Board has constituted a Management Team, with the Club Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, serving as the Head alongside Head Coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru.

Other members of the Management Team include Lawrence Adoga as Team Manager, Solomon Aondoakaa as Accountant, Emmanuel Uja as Media Director, Christopher Ayom, as Team Nurse and Felix Pilakyaa as the Club Welfare Officer.

Additionally, John Gaadi has been drafted to the team as the Goalkeepers’ Trainer.

It is hopped that with these strategic appointments, Lobi Stars will regain confidence and perfect the needed and required technicalities to turn the tide as they approach matches in the evening of the 2024/25 league season.

The Pride of Benue will battle Niger Tornadoes in a highly anticipated North Central derby this Wednesday in Bauchi.
