Community flays media attacks on hospitality operator, demands retraction

Residents of Oko Orisan Community in Epe, Lagos State, have strongly condemned what they describe as misleading and defamatory social media attacks against Alhaji Saheed Mosadoluwa, the Chief Executive of Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Reverend (Mrs.) Kemisola Oduntan dismissed the allegations in a report titled “Notorious Land Grabber Saheed ‘Ibile’ Mosadoluwa’s Injury Cover-Up Exposed As Medical Report Confirms Gunshot Wounds,” which was reportedly published in Sahara Reporters on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

She demanded an immediate retraction, describing the claims as baseless and libelous.

Oduntan decried what she called an attempt to tarnish Mosadoluwa’s reputation through falsehoods, insisting that the publication was not only misleading but also an infringement on his fundamental human rights.

“It is reckless and unethical for journalists to publish such damaging claims without proper investigation. Alhaji Mosadoluwa is a well-respected figure known for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in and beyond the Epe community,” she stated.

The reverend further refuted any ongoing land disputes involving Mosadoluwa’s Majestic Bay Estate and the Naval Base in Oko Orisan, emphasizing that both entities have coexisted peacefully for years.

She attributed the recent tensions to an alleged assassination attempt on Mosadoluwa and his son.

Additionally, the community called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to scrutinize the purported medical report published by Sahara Reporters and investigate the hospital involved, citing concerns over possible breaches of medical ethics.

They also urged media practitioners to uphold professional integrity and avoid being used as tools for character assassination. According to the community, persistent media attacks on Mosadoluwa undermine journalistic ethics and the principles of constitutional democracy.
