From Everest Ezihe, Owerri
Last Sunday disappointing outing of 0-1 home lost by Heartland FC, Owerri in their week 30 oriental Derby with Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia has being attributed to the players poor attitude and lackadaisical approach to the game.
Mr. Charles Uzo, who’s the Assistant Coach of the Owerri based landlords pointed this out during a post match media interaction with Sports Journalists immediately after the match at the VIP stand of Dan Anyiam Stadium.
“The technical crew is so disappointed with the outing, based on the result and the players attitude and approach to the game.
” The players lagged understanding of the serious business commitments the game deserves in terms of doggedness and patriotism unlike in their days. It’s unfortunate we lost before our home fans, it’s very very unfortunate. We will not give up, because we believe it’s not yet over, until it’s over” he assured.
Contrarily to Heartland FC assistant coach thinking, Abia Warriors gaffer, Imama Amapakabo said,”we came to Owerri on a revenge mission, we were poised in lifting our head high as we’re beating by Heartland in our home in the first stanza of the league with 0-2.
” Even though Heartland has a good team and good coaches, we won them through tactical planning, because the first half, it was as if we’re not in the game, thus we changed tactics in the second half and we were in serious control even though we’re one man down”.
Eze lamented over the result, saying, they never expected to lose the game because they really worked hard and planned the game, and the boys promised seriously to win the game.
He vowed to give there next match with Sunshine FC Akure this Wednesday a serious fight and as a must win to avert relegation from the premier league as they are already on red in the league table and prayed for the players to be on the right frame of mind.
