Following the demise of the Pope Francis yesterday, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Catholic faithfuls over the demise of the late Pontiff.

He stated that the death of pop Francis is not just a loss to the Church, but a loss to  humanity.

“My dear Pontiff, with heart full of sorrow and deep reverence, I mourn your death even as I extend my sincere condolences to the Catholic faithful around the world, the Vatican, and all who were touched by your extraordinary life and ministry.

“My dear Namesake, your death is not just a loss to the Church but a loss to  humanity.

“As a sent Pontiff from God, you were a shepherd of peace, a voice for the voiceless, and embodiment of compassion.

“You reflected humility, simplicity, and showed irrevocable commitment to love and justice  which now serves as a moral compass for our generation.

“Ebonyi State under my watch is greatly influenced by and inspired by the values and ideals you espoused — love for the poor,  compassion  and  hope for the broken-hearted.

“The Supreme Pontiff, posterity will deal generously with you for your reformist stance on the church and stickling for excellence amidst dissenting voices.

“I pray the Almighty God grants your soul eternal rest, wishing that your legacy continues to guide us as politicians, the Church and all people of goodwill towards world peace and unity.
