2027: ADC Coalition No Threat to APC – Prof. Muhammad Kailani

The Director-General of the Confederation of All Progressives Congress Support Groups (CASG), Professor Muhammad Kailani, has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led opposition coalition as no threat to the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Kailani said the APC remains strong nationwide and will easily retain power if current challenges are addressed.

“As a politician, I have people nationwide. People are endorsing me. They have not stopped. I’m still making consultations,” Kailani said, referring to his possible bid for the APC national chairmanship.

He stressed that APC’s main focus should be supporting President Bola Tinubu’s success, rather than fearing coalitions like the ADC.

“We want a chairman who will bring a conducive environment for members to operate and Nigerians to feel happy. If we fix poverty and insecurity now, 2027 will be a walkover,” he added.

Kailani criticised past APC leaderships for failing to change appointees who underperformed, warning Tinubu to avoid repeating the same mistake.

“The former president was caged by a cabal. He left underperforming appointees for nine years. I hope Tinubu will not do the same,” Kailani stated.

He also cautioned Nigerian leaders to govern selflessly, reminding them of their mortality.

“One day they will also die. They should not keep looting the commonwealth of all of us,” he said.

Kailani expressed confidence that APC will remain dominant if it urgently tackles economic hardship and insecurity.
