The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a public warning about a fraudulent message circulating on social media platforms, claiming to offer replacement job vacancies at the Board, according to a press statement from Maj. Rtd Gen. AM Jibril, Secretary to the Board.
The message, which requests payment of N1,340 for “competitive clearance and revenue,” is a scam and did not originate from CDCFIB. The Board categorically states that it has no affiliation with any ongoing recruitment exercise that requires payment from applicants.
The CDCFIB reiterates that all stages of its recruitment process are entirely free of charge, and at no point does it request payment of any kind from applicants. The Board assures the public that it will not compromise its integrity by engaging in such practices.
Security agencies have been alerted and are currently working to identify and prosecute those involved in this fraudulent scheme. The CDCFIB is taking all necessary steps to protect the public from falling victim to such scams.
The general public is strongly advised to disregard any such messages and to rely solely on official CDCFIB communication channels for authentic information. The CDCFIB urges caution and vigilance in dealing with unsolicited messages and requests for payment.
The CDCFIB encourages the public to verify any information regarding recruitment or other Board activities through its official channels. By doing so, individuals can ensure that they are not misled by fraudulent messages.
